Trail Workday at Cushing Conservation Area
Another successful workday at Cushing with the Seekonk Scouts! On September 22nd a crew of 10 scouts, parents, scout leaders, and a few volunteers from the community worked spreading wood chips along newly prepared trails. Thanks to all for your hard work and support!
Seekonk Library Nature Photo Contest Reception
The Seekonk Nature Photography Contest has ended and it’s time for judging! Go to the library to vote for your favorites! A celebratory reception open to the public will be held at the Seekonk Public Library, 410 Newman Avenue, on Wednesday, November 13th at 6:00 PM.

It's here... the 5th Annual Nature Photo Contest held in partnership with the Seekonk Public Library! Submit photos of Seekonk's natural places between September 3rd through September 23rd. Get outside, enjoy a walk, and take some pictures!

Join us for one or more sessions of the Seekonk Land Trust Photo Walks on Fridays August 16, August 30, and September 13 from 10 AM to 11 AM.
Sarah Newkirk Awarded Mary Wilson Award at Land Trust Annual Meeting
On April 16, 2024, the Seekonk Land Conservation Trust held its annual meeting at the Seekonk Public Library. Sarah Newkirk, the founding director of Osamequin Farm, was awarded the Mary C. Wilson Community Conservation Award for her significant contributions to conservation in Seekonk.
Trail Work Continues at Cushing Conservation Area
As part of our trail development initiative, the Land Trust kicked off spring with a work day at the Cushing Conservation Area on Chestnut Street. In partnership with our friends from the Seekonk Scout Troops, we hope to continue to spread woodchips on current trails and blaze a new trail through the preserve.

Winter Woodland Walk at Osamequin Farm
Approximately 24 people attended our Winter Woodland Walk on February 17 at Osamequin Farm to enjoy a hike and learn about our winter woods.
Native Seed Planting Workshop at Osamequin Farm
SLCT, Rehoboth Land Trust and Osamequin Farm collaborated to lead this hands-on winter native seed planting event on January 27th.
Invasive Plant Workshop Held in October
On October 28th, 15 people attended our field training and learned to identify and control the most common invasive plant species in our area.
Memorial Bench Installed at Martin Refuge
A new teak bench was installed at Martin Refuge overlooking Burr’s Pond. We’re thankful to Jim Cahill and Nina Zaretsky who provided for this contemplative spot with a generous donation to the Land Trust.
