About Us

Founded in 1967, the Seekonk Land Conservation Trust (SLCT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the distinctive landscapes and natural resources in the Town of Seekonk in Massachusetts.

We support land conservation in Seekonk by connecting landowners to potential resources for land conservation and by acquiring undeveloped land through private donations. The SLCT also supports environmental education in the Seekonk Public Schools and the Library.

Just five miles away from Providence, Rhode Island, Seekonk is still covered with pockets of rural, natural habitats. With a population of over 15,000, the town continues to grow. The SLCT actively supports ways to respond to the demands of development while also preserving the natural beauty of Seekonk.

Our Mission

To preserve open land in our community and to promote conservation, stewardship and environmental awareness throughout Seekonk.

Our Vision

To maintain the rural character of Seekonk and its natural habitat, by conserving land and by educating and empowering every citizen to be a steward of the land throughout the town.
