Seekonk Library Nature Photo Contest Reception

Burr’s Pond

Submissions for the Seekonk Nature Photography Contest have ended and it’s time for judging and voting! A celebratory reception open to the public will be held at the Seekonk Public Library, at 410 Newman Avenue, on Wednesday, November 13th at 6:00 PM.

Librarian, Michell Gario has informed us that there are some spectacular photographs this year, featuring landscapes and a variety of wildlife, from crayfish to eagles, with a total of 73 submissions in the following categories: 50 adults, 14 teens, and 9 children. The judges will complete a first round of scoring, followed by public voting in the library, and then announce the winners. Visit the Library’s Flicker photo gallery for a sneak peek.

The president of the Land Trust, Tom Webb, will speak briefly at the contest reception to highlight the Trust’s partnership with the library and what we do in the community. Join us to view these beautiful photos of our natural spaces and to celebrate these talented photographers!
